We loved the apartment - our home away from home for a month. The apartment is clean, comfortable and has a beautiful balcony that we used every morning and afternoon. Lars has included everything we needed for a one month stay. It's in a great building with several layers of security which we also liked. The neighborhood was perfect for us. Close to 2 Metro stations and blocks aways from the Bastille and Marais with lots of restaurants and attractions. Martine - the house manager - was extremely nice and welcoming. It couldn't have been a better place for us to stay. Thank you Lars.

Lars place is incredible and he is a fabulous host. His place is on a quiet street near the Bastille with easy access to everything you could want. I especially liked the quick access (hidden garden) way to get to the Seine where I walked every morning. He has very specific instructions outlined on how to use all of the appliances as well as his favorite restaurants and other very useful information. I can't say enough. The place is large, beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend!

What an amazing space to call home while visiting Paris. The location is super convenient with access to multiple Metro stops and buses literally around the corner. The shops and restaurants in the neighborhood are wonderful too. So if you’re feet are tired after a long days walk, just step across the street for all your needs. The apartment is furnished and decorated beautifully. We enjoyed lots of wine and cheese on the lovely balcony. Quiet street with charming views and sunsets. We are so grateful to have been fortunate for the hosts to give us a comfy respite. I am quite sure we will look for this apartment again in any future trip to a Paris, because you know, we didn’t get to everything and we want to return to our new favorites.

Spent a week here with 2 teen boys and my wife. This apt is set up perfectly for a family or for a couple that wants some extra space. Everything you need is in the apt and Lars provides you with instructions on appliances, suggestions, etc. 7-8 minute walk to very popular 1-5-8 Metro station. Boulangerie at the end of the block. Grocery store around the corner and a 3 minute walk. Many restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Incredible Aligre market 10 minute walk for fresh fruits, vegetables,cheeses, beef, chicken, etc. Although you aren't in the "heart" of Paris, everything is just 20 minutes away via Metro. The balcony has a table for 4 and you can enjoy any meal or glass of wine outdoors. Air conditioning in bedroom only but we didn't need it at all for June. Great breeze thoughout the entire apt. Many thanks to Lars for the use of his apt and Martine. I would easily recommend this to anyone.

A spacious, very comfortable and well-furnished apartment. We enjoyed our six-nights stay at Lars and Jean-Pierre's place. The apartment has everything that can help with your stay - from a fully functioning kitchen to a complete laundry facility to an easy-to-use printer for your boarding pass! The location is very good - close to a number of metro stations and a train station (Gare de Lyon). We were warmly welcomed and assisted by Lars and Martine. Highly recommended!

We have rented apartments in Paris every summer for many years and this apartment is one of the best. Because the owners live in the apartment most of the year, it is equipped with everything you need. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals and enjoy them at the computable dining area. The terrace is very comfortable and tranquil for drinks and relaxing. During a summer hot spell, the A/C and blackout shades make sleeping easy. We look forward to another stay in 2019.

This Paris apartment met all of our expectations. Its location was the perfect starting point for any of our destinations in Paris, whether we walked or caught any number of nearby trains, buses or boats. It was also great to come home to after long days exploring this beautiful city. Quiet, spacious and very comfortable, with a great kitchen where we could make our own meals if we wished. Martine was welcoming, friendly and gave us a wonderful introduction to the apartment. I highly recommend this apartment. Our experience was faultless.

A nice flat, but building noise all week from next door really spoilt our stay.
What a shame you had to suffer from the noise of an apartment renovation in the same building! Unfortunately, renovations form part of everyday life and they can be noisy. I wish you had advised us about this during your stay, and not just afterwards. I'm certain that we would have been able to reach a mutually satisfactory solution to this, rather than spoiling your entire stay.

We could not fault this apparent. It's extremely well equipped, specious and decorated tastefully. The location is also second to none, with the centre of Bastille no more than five minutes walk away, including the usual tube, bus and train station easily to hand. The advice left in the apartment proved invaluable, especially "hidden gems' like the walk along the Seine, only minutes from the apartment. The house keeper met us on our arrival with a warm welcome and good advice on the local area, thank you Martine. I can highly recommend this apartment for a couple requiring a luxurious place to stay in Paris but don't like restrictions associated with staying in a hotel.

The apartment is perfect. We loved the light and the decor. Plus, very practical space with no compromises. Location was great, near restaurants, cafes, markets - loved walking on the Viaduct, which we had never discovered before. Reception was super. Lars and Jean-Pierre's apartment was wonderful! Beautifully decorated, with plenty of space. Martine was very welcoming, and made check-in very easy. Having coffee, milk and fruit was appreciated after flying overnight from Canada. It was a 10-minute walk to the Metro, and very easy to get around the city. My mother and I did a lot of walking, and hopped on the Metro when we were tired. There was a grocery store and bakery down the street. We loved our time in Paris and look forward to staying at Lars and Jean-Pierre's again!

I couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay in Paris. The apartment was very well-kept, clean and had everything you’d ever need, even down to a bottle of olive oil. If you ever found yourself wondering how to use something in the apartment, say, the oven, Lars left a book explaining how to use everything. In that same book there were also great tips and suggestions on places to visit and restaurants to eat at. Since he was away on a trip, Martine, his friend, greeted us and showed the apartment. She was very nice and was at our disposal during our entire stay. Without a shadow of a doubt, when going back to Paris, we will be staying at Lars’s apartment again.

This apartment met all of our expectations and more. The apartment was spacious and tastefully decorated with a keen sense of style. We loved the balcony and enjoyed many meals out there soaking up the lovely atmosphere. We found the location to be a perfect spot. Oh how we loved walking through the canal side park to get to the subway which took us anywhere we wanted to go.We even caught a seine river boat tour from our canal which was low key and just down the block. Lars' and Jean-Pierre's place is great! Wonderful location, very close to metro and bus lines. A quiet street in a busy neighborhood, just steps from fine restaurants and entertainment. They have thought of everything and have left a very detailed book with instructions for all the appliances and household things, which is very helpful. We really appreciated the breakfast items, coffee, milk, orange juice, and bread that they left for us - plus a nice bottle of wine! The apartment is very comfortable and the balcony is a lovely spot to sit out and have a drink or even a meal. The apartment is very clean and well kept-up. They were not able to be there to meet us, so their friend Martine, who is lovely, met us and welcomed us to the apartment. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend this apartment and these hosts 100%.

I don't think I have ever met anyone who is so detail oriented with your apartment guide book! everything was spelled out so perfectly for us down to where we ate! Thank you also for the nice bottle of wine. Martine was fantastic and we wanted to take her back to California with us! For the prospective guest reading this; The apartment is in a great location close enough to everything but just far enough away to be out of the huge Paris crowds. So many wonderful restaurants close by and especially in the Bastille. Transportation to everywhere was a breeze. The apartment is well furnished, comfortable, modern and chic. Bonne Annee, Lars! From the moment we stepped inside your apartment in Paris I knew I couldn't wait to write to you. But then our wonderful trip turned into celebrating New Year's at home with our families and then back to the routine of work and school and here we are a month later and I'm just getting a moment to share our thoughts with you of the absolute wonderful time we had while staying at your place. Your apartment turned a very nice vacation into an extraordinary memory for our family. As much as our family adores to travel we love spending time with our extended families especially over the holidays. But a trip to Paris deserved more than a long weekend and in order to do that with our school aged daughter we needed to do so while she was off from school and with that we chose winter break for our trip. It wasn't easy telling our families we would be traveling over Christmas and not with them but we knew we would have a nice experience doing so. What we weren't prepared for what just how nice of an experience we would have. Paris is just a remarkable city and one that will forever hold a place dear in our hearts. The sights, the food, the shopping, the history, the splendor around every turn. We can't say enough about this amazing city. But, we would have had those wonderful experiences in the city wherever we stayed. What we didn't expect is just how much your apartment would become one of the key treasured memories of our vacation. It was warm, clean, welcoming, stylish and cozy at the same time, and very comforting, especially after long days touring the town. We relaxed, read, watched movies, planned our next steps, and celebrated Christmas all in the comfort of your home. I catch myself daydreaming of the time I spent in your kitchen. It was so perfectly equipped and the food we prepared, although simple, still remains one of our favorite parts of the vacation. I listened to Christmas carols while preparing a full Christmas day breakfast and we snacked on late night pizza after sightseeing. We even found ourselves with a free afternoon one day and instead of filling our time with another excursion, we chose to return to the apartment just to spend some quality down time in the flat's wonderful environment. We loved our Paris apartment which was conveniently located near quality restaurants and both metro and train stations allowing us to easily travel anywhere in the city or surrounding areas. The furnishing were lovely and we immediately felt at home. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine from a nearby local vineyard The owner sent several helpful emails in regards to providing information on things to do and how to get around Paris before our arrival. A book was also provided with lists of nearby favorite restaurants and attractions.. I hope to be able to return to Paris someday and would love to stay in the same place.

This apartment is pristine with designer features. We found it immaculate, well stocked and very comfortable. Lars was great with communication and even though he was out of town we were promptly and warmly greeted by his representative. Lars has gone to great lengths in describing and giving directions on how to use everything in his apartment. He has put together an instruction manual that's very comprehensive. The locating its central but quiet. The metro is 10-15 minutes away by foot. There are plenty of shops within walking distance, including a grocery store next door and a pastry shop across the street. There's a food market on Thursdays a few feet away.

A friend and I rented this apartment for several days in May/June, 2016. Unfortunately for us, it was the time of some of the worst weather Paris has seen for many years! From the first moment we were in touch with Lars, the owner, everything went incredibly smoothly - great communication and attention to detail by Lars. This is a beautiful apartment on the 6th floor but with very reliable lift access. It is spacious, beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. Lars' personal touches of artworks and objets d'art made a difference if you are looking for something other than the usual accommodation offerings. The location was excellent; walking distance to Gare de Lyon, Place de Bastille, local markets, Notre Dame, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay and the wonderful Marais area. An excellent CarreFour supermarket is a few minutes away making it very easy to self-cater. The check-in process was extremely efficient (thanks to Martine) and a very comprehensive information booklet has been prepared for guests. We would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for above-average accommodation.

This is the 8th different Apartment we've used in Paris in our search for somewhere peaceful, spacious, well appointed, in a great location and with excellent facilities nearby (shopping, transport etc), and at last we've found the apartment which ticks all the boxes. In addition, we travelled by car and the subterranean secure parking was a real bonus. I don't think we ever mastered the TV, but if you go to Paris to watch TV you may need to see a therapist. If you're unfamiliar with the buses a bit of time studying the routes and procedures will be infinitely more rewarding than using the metro. And Paris at Christmas is a lovely and lively city - we visited a museum on Christmas Day (Jacquemart-Andre, with its lovely café), and also went to the opera - try doing that in the UK! Finally it's congratulations to the French for asserting their identity and determination after the appalling murders of 13th November - there was a great spirit in the city.

Situated in a modern, secure block,it is a bright and spacious, fully equipped apartment (all you need is food and drink). With a sofa bed in the study, a second toilet, and an outdoor terrace, we four adults were extremely comfortable. The property is a five-minute walk to Bastille Opera metro and its surrounding vibrant neighbourhood, and at the end of the street is an attractive, boat-filled canal that leads to the Seine. Around the corner is a supermarket, and there is a good choice of restaurants in the nearby streets. We had a wonderful nine days in the apartment, and really appreciated its amenities and its convenience to much of the city.

This review is long overdue, as my husband and I stayed here back in September 2014, but alas, I wasn't able to review sooner (due to last-minute surgery, work, holidays, life!) But I really wanted to share our positive experience at this rental with fellow travelers, so here i am!
Firstly, the administrative and booking processes were very professionally handled, both thru Tripadvisor, as well as with the property owners -- Lars replied promptly and thoroughly to my emails, addressing all of my minor queries .
If you're travelers who like to rent private apartments, you know how reassuring it is to have quick replies, and more importantly, replies that address your specific concerns. (what floor, nearest Metro, availability, recommendations, etc) Reservations and deposits were handled smoothly via this site so that the entire process felt professional and safe.
As for the apartment itself -- you cannot go wrong with this well-maintained, high-end, beautiful and modern space! The apartment is spotlessly cleaned and well-stocked (pots, pans, plenty of basic pantry items, bathrooms essentials, any & all cleaning agents that your heart desires). Sheets, hangers, extra blankets, big closets in which to unpack properly -- everything is included for a thoughtful stay (even toiletries like mini-shampoos and hotel slippers).
Local calls are free and they allowed us to arrange restaurant reservations & the airport taxi pickup quickly and easily. The owner provides a binder full of detailed instructions for how to run or access equipment -- I appreciated this, as it showed his level of care and interest in ensuring a guest's pleasant stay, as well as the apartment's maintenance. My favorite experience in the apartment was the immaculate rain shower - it left my hair looking fabulous (crucial for a proper Parisian visit!)
We were only 2 people for this stay, but we really enjoyed having the run of this place -- the living room is big and comfortable, while the kitchen, though compact, allowed us to prepare and enjoy daily breakfasts, as well as two homemade dinners (there is a good-sized supermarket, Carrefour, just a few blocks away). If you're here on a Sunday or Thursday, be sure to check out the Marché Bastille on nearby Boulevard Richard Lenoir - pick up a tasty poulet roti and pommes frites for a night in.
The kitchen is well-equipped and features a full range of excellent appliances (bonus: delicous Keurig pods are provided for a tasty morning coffee!) The extra bedroom doubles as office space, with a cozy desk space. We didn't use this space personally, but it would be useful for a family with older children perhaps, as it's located on the other side of the apartment.
Our mid-September weather wasn't overly warm, but we were pleased to run the quiet bedroom air conditioner when needed. The majority of our nights were a bit too cool to really take full advantage of the spacious balcony, but it's a comfortable and relaxing space that is decorated with a few plants and it overlooks a quiet street. The apartment is high enough so that street noise is not an issue.
The apartment is situated in the Bastille area, which is easily accessed by a major Metro stop, as well as the Gard de Lyon train stop. We were able to find a nearby post office, as well as plenty of food spots, using the apartment's handy WiFi services. The building itself is modern and secure, with keypad entries both at the front gate and at the elevator. The few residents we encountered seemed polite and cordial.
Lastly, this review would not be complete without mentioning again how wonderful it was to work with Lars, the owner, throughout -- from beginning to end, he checked with us to make sure we were satisfied with all aspects of our stay. His assistant, Martine, met us for the check-in process -- we had arranged a meeting time via text and she was already there when we arrived. She thoughtfully carried my carry-on bag as soon as she saw that my arm was in a cast and then went about thoroughly explaining the apartment's set-up once we were inside (keys, where to find device info, how to access WiFi, etc) as well as other logistical information (how to find Metro, nearest super-marche, etc). She offered to answer any additional questions we might have via text, should the need arise - we didn't contact her, but I am sure that if we had, she would have been more than willing to help. Lars knew we were on our honeymoon so he thoughtfully arranged for us to have a bottle of champagne in the fridge! So sweet and thank you!
Book this place with confidence! I'm really glad we chose Paris as our honeymoon destination because as Lars pointed out, this will be a wonderful place to revisit on future anniversaries! We hope to return to Paris and we would be happy to stay here again!.

Two bedrooms, full bath and an extra half bath in a large fully equipped apartment in Paris. We thought we were dreaming. Located in a residential neighborhood meant that you could get a good night's sleep and still walk to many major sites. The owner is very responsive to your inquiries and very attentive to your needs. You'll have to sign up way ahead of time for this rental.

The flat was decorated and furnished to the highest standard. the booking process was simple and we were met by the house manager who was also very helpful. If you want to see Paris by foot then you could not pick a better location with most of the tourist attractions within easy walking distance. Local restaurants were in abundance and Le Train Bleu is exceptional. We had a great and would highly recommend ths property.

My husband and i enjoyed a wonderful stay at this very well appointed apartment. The comfort and roominess, the lovely balcony the beautiful art work and a perfect location near markets, bakeries,restaurants. The manager, a lovely woman, greeted us with wine and snacks. Although we have rented many apartments in Paris this was one of our favorites.

we loved staying at this apt. location and quality is fabulous. Very clean and well decorated with a very well equiped kitchen to cook. We were a family of 4... only draw back was that the pull out sofa is a double in the 2nd bedroom and ideally for our needs - male and female teen siblings would have been better if a trundle bed.

This wonderful property was exactly as advertised. A modern apartment with everything you could possibly need provided (and then some). Obviously much loved and cared for by the owners. Close to Metro, main train line, and loads of wonderful cafes and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and found the area safe, even when returning home sometimes late at night. It is not in the heart of the main tourist areas which makes it feel more like you are a local, but just a 20 minute stroll over one of the many bridges and you can be in the Notre Dame District. So much to see, so much to do, so little time.

What a wonderful apartment in a fantastic neighborhood! The flat was exactly as described and every amenity was included. Checking in was easy; the manager was there on-time and was very helpful with getting us acquainted with the flat and neighborhood. The area is wonderful - we found everyone to be very accommodating to us, even though the area isn't a 'tourist' cetner. There's a full grocery store around the corner, super restaurants all over, and a Metro station to whisk you anywhere in the city you need to go! Thank you Lars for a fantastic home away from home!

This apartment was lovely - well appointed, great lighting, lovely art and outdoor balcony space! The owner, Lars, was so gracious in helping us prepare for our stay and once we arrived, his house manager, Martine continued the hospitality by showing us around the apartment and tips for the surrounding neighborhoods and canal. Though very warm that week in Paris, our apartment had wonderful cross ventillation and one bedroom had an air conditioner so all 4 of us were cool and comfortable. The apartment accomodated myself and my husband and our son and daughter in law with 2 bedrooms (comfortable bedding- even the sleeper sofa) and 1 1/2 baths. We were close to many sites by foot and could catch the metro or RER easily from this location. Hope to get back again in the future.

The condo is very well furnished and we found the location to be good for travel by metro and RER. The owner provides detailed instructions before arrival and in the condo. An english speaking representative met us and was very helpful with any questions we had. The deposit was returned without any problem. A welcome package of tea,coffee, and wine was provided. The kitchen was well equiped and stocked with many items so you didn't have to buy those small things you might like to have for a meal. The owner even provided a list of restaurants one might like to try.

When we plan for a quite long stay like we did (18 days), we look for a nice place, where everything works fine, and we find exactly what we have contracted. It was exactly like this: since the first emails exchanged to rent the apartment until the check out, it was very simple, a warm welcome, a nice apartment, very confortable, where we felt like home there. The location is very convenient, close to subway station and city atractions. Definitely a place we would stay again and recommend to friends.

We truly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended this rental property to another. The kitchen has a great view and all the ammenities. There is grocery store close by. Appreciated the extra 1/2 bathroom. Second bed is a fold out couch that is suprisingly comfortable. The room has sliding doors for privacy. A very nice balcony with lovely view. We will return.

We really enjoyed this immaculate spacious apartment. No expense has been spared on fixtures and fittings. The kitchen is very well equiped with top of the range appliances. The furnishings are all to a very high standard. The owner and housekeeper were so friendly and easy to deal with. The apartment is within easy reach of shops restaurants etc. Fresh bread for breakfast just over the road. The apartment is very security conscious and would be ideal for a lone traveller. Believe me...there are no down sides to this apartment.

We had never rented a vacation apartment before, but this apartment was a great find. It gave us a sample of living in Paris and the pleasure of vacationing. We (three adults) absolutely enjoyed our 14 nights there, and would stay in this apartment again. Location is excellent with good walking distance to the Metro, bus stops, supermarkets, restaurants and many other sites. The owner was extremely pleasant and his House Manager was really nice and available upon arrival / via cell phone. We totally recommend this vacation rental. You will definately enjoy it!

This very modern apartment is equipped with everything we needed and more. It's very close to a supermarket, metro, train and bus transportation and a Velib bike rack. The terrace was of special interest for us. Spacious and comfortable, highly recommended.

Overall, a really good quaility apartment in a very nice part of Paris. The apartment is spacious and well laid out offering good space for 2 couples with all the facilities you need. The location is great and a short walk away from Bastille Metro offering easy access to the city. The surrounding area is very nice with views across the Arsenal Basin and Marina. The market on Sunday which runs from Bastille to Richard Lenoir is fantastic. Owners are very easy to deal with and booking was efficient and hassle free.
